Please note that there are seasonal restrictions to some of the surveys listed above, please refer to our calendar for further information.
Not all developments require a bat licence. Where possible, we look to assess, alter and mitigate to avoid impacts and the subsequent need for a licence.
If a licence is required, there are currently two types, depending on the bat species and populations present on site. For more species diverse sites in higher levels of use a European Protected Species Mitigation (EPSM) license will be required. For low impact works on roosts of low numbers of common and widespread species a Bat Low Impact Class License (BLICL) will suffice.
